Private Tour with Paul Greenhalgh this Saturday

Another amazing opportunity! This Saturday at 1:00 pm, internationally acclaimed scholar of 19th century art and culture, Paul Greenhalgh, has offered to give our class his views about the work itself and also the Washington installation of the exhibition.

Many of you know that Greenhaugh is the former Director of the Corcoran, and that he has moved back to England where he leads the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. He spoke at the symposium at the Tate when the PRB show was in London back in 2012. I can't begin to list all of Greenhalgh's publications, presentations, and academic achievements in this space, but below is the cover image from the new edition of his classic study of World's Fairs, Ephemeral Vistas. Everyone in the seminar should recognize the building in the background. How many remember the date it was built, the architect, the location, and most importantly its purpose?

We will convene in the leafy indoor courtyard outside the entrance of the PRB exhibition at 1:00. If you arrive late, look for us in the exhibition. If you want to bring a friend (or friends) with you, do so by all means.
